Yesterday was a day to remember for our YMI team! Four of us had the honor of traveling to Reading, Pennsylvania to celebrate being named one of the 2025 Empowering Women Award recipients by the Lehigh Valley Business Journal and the Central Penn Business Journal.
The Empowering Women Awards recognize companies and individuals across the Lehigh Valley, Allentown, Bethlehem, Stroudsburg, and beyond who are making a lasting impact in promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and leadership opportunities for women in business. To be included among so many incredible organizations and leaders committed to uplifting women in the workplace is both humbling and inspiring.
Connecting with Other Leaders Who Empower Women in Pennsylvania
The ceremony brought together professionals and organizations from across Pennsylvania, including the Lehigh Valley, Allentown, Bethlehem, and Stroudsburg regions, all sharing a common goal: empowering women to achieve their full potential. We had the opportunity to connect with other businesses that, like YMI, are dedicated to creating workplaces where women can thrive and advance into leadership roles.
Learning from Inspiring Women Leaders
One of the highlights of the day was a powerful panel discussion featuring women leaders who empower and mentor other women every day. These remarkable women shared their personal stories, leadership journeys, and the invaluable advice they would give to their younger selves. Hearing these insights firsthand was both motivating and a reminder of the importance of mentorship, representation, and advocacy for women across all industries in Pennsylvania and the Lehigh Valley.
A Moment of Pride for YMI
Celebrating this honor together as a team made the experience even more special. It was a chance to reflect on the ways we at YMI work to support and uplift women every day—and to be recognized for that commitment on such a respected stage in Reading, PA means the world to us.
We left Reading feeling energized, inspired, and deeply grateful for the recognition from the Lehigh Valley Business Journal and Central Penn Business Journal. This Pennsylvania business award is not just a reflection of our company’s values, but of the amazing women (and allies!) who make our work possible.
