At YMI, we’ve always believed that community is at the heart of everything we do. The people and businesses around us are more than neighbors — they’re part of what makes our region special. This month, we’re proud to give back by joining the Northeast Community Center’s Food Drive, an effort to help ensure that families in our area have access to nutritious food and the support they need.
About the Northeast Community Center
The Northeast Community Center (NECC) is a nonprofit organization located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, dedicated to strengthening families and building a sense of community. For more than four decades, NECC has offered programs and services that support individuals of all ages — from youth enrichment and family resources to senior outreach and emergency assistance.
Their Food Pantry, one of the most accessible in the Bethlehem area, provides essential groceries and household items to hundreds of local families each month. With the help of donations and community partnerships, NECC continues to make a meaningful impact by addressing food insecurity and promoting wellness throughout the Lehigh Valley.
How You Can Help
Food insecurity affects more local families than many realize. The Northeast Community Center works year-round to provide meals, resources, and care to those who need it most — and this food drive is one way we can all help. By filling just one bag of groceries, you can make a real difference for someone right here in our community.
You can drop off non-perishable food donations at any YMI office — in Allentown, Bethlehem, or Stroudsburg — now through the end of the month. But we’re not the only ones collecting! You can also contribute at one of several amazing local businesses and organizations who have joined in to support the cause:
Participating Drop-Off Locations
- YMI Insurance
- HYATT Place Bethlehem
- Sorcery & Scripts
- Sonny Moon
- Bethlehem Chamber Office
- Aardvark Sports Shop
- Roasted
- A Couple Craves
- Country Club Brewing
- City of Bethlehem
What’s Most Needed
The Northeast Community Center has shared that the most-needed items include:
Rice (1lb bags), pasta, pasta sauce, beans, canned meats, canned fruits and vegetables, cereal, instant pancake mix, coffee, tea, bottled drinks, and juices.
Whether it’s a few cans or a full grocery bag, every donation helps fill shelves — and hearts — across our community.
At YMI, we’re proud to be part of a network of local businesses and neighbors working together to make a difference. Let’s come together to support one another and make sure every family has access to the meals they deserve.
Donations will be accepted through the end of the month. To learn more about the Northeast Community Center and its programs, visit neccbethlehem.org
